Power Quality Enhancement of Grid-Connected Renewable Systems Using a Matrix-Pencil-Based Active Power Filter

Power electronic converters are used for integrating renewable energy sources such as wind and photovoltaic into the grid. This integration gives rise to many challenges in power systems, especially regarding quality. Indeed, integrated systems generate a non-linear current full of harmonics, which degrades Active filters usually compensate these harmonics at point common coupling. In control active filters, need be extracted from current. this paper, matrix pencil method?a model-based technique estimating parameters exponentially damped or undamped sinusoids noise?is proposed extract reference signal shunt filter applications. The performance method is studied harmonic compensation factor correction under different modulation schemes two DC links: an external voltage source capacitor. Using capacitor link requires not only including proportional-plus-integral controller maintain constant voltage, but also accounting loss formulation method. Compared with instantaneous reactive theory synchronous frame, results obtained simulated data using MATLAB/Simulink loading conditions show that corrects affords lower total distortion fast response.
